Never Walk Alone
The last article I wrote concerned the heart motivation we all follow. I’d like to present the second major theme/ topic (which I had mentioned incredibly briefly) that God spoke to me and taught me about over the past nine months of studying the bible- community. This idea of community isn’t just about a couple of families or a few people living in a house together, but it is the idea of people needing one another and for those following Christ, the necessity of other Christians around them. As I write this I am sitting in the Incheon International Airport in Seoul, South Korea, where there is a light dusting of snow on the ground and an endless blue sky out the window to my left. I am on my way back to Seattle for Christmas, having just spent the past nine months taking part in an intensive bible study course that focuses on an inductive method of bible study. Reading through the text of the bible itself five times and doing historical background studies through each book, spending an average of 11-13 hours a day six days a week in the bible and study materials.
